January Peace Index
Some interesting stats in this month's Israel Democracy Institute Peace Index (not all election related):
47% of Israelis say they want a right-wing government, vs. 41% who say center-left government.
45% of Israelis say socioeconomic issues will drive their vote, and 53% say a Herzog/Livni government would best handle those issues.
30% say security issues will drive their vote, and 52% say a Netanyahu government would best handle those issues.
Israelis say Netanyahu should have declined the invitation to address Congress 56-38%, and say the issue hurts Israel's interests 46-44%.
Israelis support peace talks with the Palestinians 63-32%
